Day-wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrival in Tribhuvan Airport at Kathmandu, welcome by our tour representative and transfer to hotel. Check into room and refresh. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

After Breakfast Half Day Sightseeing of Pasupatinath; Jogeshwari Devi and Jalnarayan Temples. Lunch at Hotel. Evening Tour Briefing. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

Drive to Dhunche (127 km/6 hrs) or Syabrubesi (141 km/7 hrs) or Timure (152 km/8 hrs) . Overnight stay Lodge.

Drive to Rasuwagadhi (1800m / 15 km / 45 min from Syabrubesi) or 10 to 15 minute walk to border from Timure, then complete immigration & custom formalities in Nepal & Tibet side at Rasuwagadhi, and then continue further drive to Kerung county (2850m) – 1 hrs / 40 km.

This day is your acclimatisation day. After lunch drive to upper Kerung (80 KM/1.5 Hrs )

From today, our journey will be precious in every minute. After Lunch, drive towards New Dongba for about 4-5 hours( 200 KM). En route you will pass Lalung La pass (5,300m), can view great Himalayas range and wide Tibetan dry landscape that make you feel travelling in mountains and deserts .Beside that you can also see Mt. Shisha Pangma (8,000m). On the way to Saga city you will cross the Holy Brahmaputra River. Overnight at Hotel

We have very important day today as we are heading to the holiest place at Lake Manasarovar. As per above time schedule, our day begins with breakfast at 0730 AM. On the way before Mayumla Pass (4900 m), we take break for permit formalities and for lunch then continue the journey crossing Mayumla pass and Paryang County. You will have very good opportunity to see first glimpse of Mt. Kailash from the shore of Lake Manasarovar. Today we will do a Part Parikrama of Mansarovar Lake by another vehicle (Local vehicle). On the way of Mansarovar Parikrma – Overnight at Guest house at the bank of Lake Mansarovar. You can also see or visit Chiu Gompa Monastery situated in hillock near Guesthouse. Stay in guesthouse in dormitory style.

Night Stay: Guest House(Multiple Sharing)

Early in the morning, take holy dip and perform Puja (prayer ritual) at Mansarovar Lake. Later Drive to Darchen (2 hrs) and Overnight at Darchen. (Optional: Asthapath Visit) – Whoever is willing to do the Asthapath visit (if permitted by the Chinese officials/army), can do by paying an additional cost of CNY 500 – 600 per person. (8-10 km / 30 min drive)

Night stay: Hotel/Any Chinese Hotel with Attached bath room (Multiple Sharing)

After breakfast drive towards YamaDwar via Darchen. Yamadwar (Tarboche) which is the starting point of Kailash Parikrama. Tarboche is also well known as an outer “Asthapath”. It is one of the exciting days walking along the beautiful rocky cliffs; waterfalls with some clouds in the clear blue sky make you feel that Great God Shiva is everywhere with tons of blessing to you. We see Ganesh Parwat on its’ side. Time to time the north face of Kailash Parbat will be kept on appearing. Overnight at Guest house. If you are not doing Parikrama, then you will be waiting at Darchen – Mud Guest House multiple sharing (If using hotel Himalya /any Chinese Hotel with attached bath rooms then Cost Difference USD 60 per person for 2 nights to be paid directly by guest) till Group return from Parikrma; we will arrange accommodation & Meals.

Today is the most challenging day in our Yatra. Who would like to go for Charan Sparsh If Permitted (Restricted by Army Since Last week of Aug-24) (4 km one way) can go Early in the Morning or can go previous day Day 9 after reaching Diraphuk. After breakfast, Trek from Dirapuk to Dolma La Pass (8 km). About 3 kms before reaching Dolma La Pass is steep hill and quite difficult to walk. Also descending from Dolma La Pass is the same for upto 3 km. While descending you can see Gaurikund on the right. After walking for about 2 – 3 hrs we will reach Phedi. After some rest we will start trek to Zuthulpuk (12 km trek for 6 hours). Overnight at Guest house

Night stay: Mud Guest House.

Altitude: 4760 M / 5700 M-TOP

After a short Trek (8kms – 2 – 3hrs) and reach the point where the coach will be waiting, we will drive to Darchen and merge with other members who were waiting and drive to Saga. (480 KM – 9-10 hrs)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Night stay: Hotel/Guest House

After breakfast we begin our journey towards Nyalam. On the way we pass through the town of Saga, Driving on well pitched roads and mountainous terrain we reach Nyalam or Kerung for an overnight. Stay in a guest house

Hotel: Guest House-Multiple Sharing

Drive: 6-7 hours Drive

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast drive from Nyalam towards we walk to the Nepalese immigration control in Nyalam, complete the re-entry formalities and get transferred to our hotel in Kathmandu. This should take about 6- 7 hours by bus. Dinner and night stay will be in the Hotel.

Distance: 175 kms

After breakfast you will be transferred to Airport to board your flight back to home.

1. Passport must be valid for six months from the date of departure. Age Limit for Yatra 10 – 70 Years for Indians at the time of entering Tibet.
2. Recommendation for Indians: Please Issue Air Tickets for Kathmandu, as per the name on your Voter ID. (You Must Carry ORIGINAL VOTER ID to FLY Kathmandu)
3. For Indian Passport Holders- Original Passport required 20 – 25 working Days prior to travel date at Lucknow office.
4. Foreign Passport Holders: This route is not valid.
5. Keep your return ticket open; sometimes due to bad weather condition return journey can be delay. Issue Insured Air Tickets for Date change & Cancellation.

  • Any rates increase by Tibet/China in last moment after making booking.
  • Any extra expenses for extra days accommodation in Kathmandu / Nepalgunj / Simikot/ Hilsa /Purang/Saga/ Kodari/Nyalam due to bad weather/flight cancellation or any other reason
  • Any extra cost due to late permit/visa from Tibet part

Note: the Yatra covers several geographically constrained stops with limited basic amenities like toilet, internet, electricity, as such. Likewise, natural calamities : flood, landslide result in road blocks causing delay in your travel. Additionally, hotels remain crowded during full moons when services will be compromised. We expect your understanding in this regard!

Fitness

Participants are kindly advised to consult their doctor prior to the Yatra. The maximum age limit for participation is 70 years.

As Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar is situated at high altitudes please start exercises like walking, jogging, yoga and other breathing exercises in order to have a successful yatra

Kindly get yourself a medical insurance for this yatra. Please make sure you cover yourself for emergency evacuation (helicopter) in the insurance.
